Synopsis
Fossil hunter Mary Anning is tasked with looking after a depressed woman named Charlotte. Though reluctant at first, the duo soon form a deep connection. My Thoughts
This movie was just, solid. I don't have that much to say about it. The plot? Engaging. The main two characters? Likable enough, and I did genuinely care for their relationship. The drama? Solid. The cinematography? Decent enough.
I've seen some reviews claim that they thought that this one moved too slowly or that it was boring. And, all right, I won't deny that it does have its fair share of quiet taking-it-easy scenes where not a lot happens. But for me these scenes added to the movie, instead of taking away from it. Sometimes showing the mundane moments in these women's lives can also work.
I also quite liked the ending, it's a bit vague but it has its implications and just seeing the duo unite by chance like this was nice.
Maybe this isn't a perfect film, and I'd be lying if I said it was one of my favorites, but I think that it was solid.
