My Thoughts

A perfectly fine but also just kinda mediocre film. It does have some sweet moments and nice animation, but also it just feels pretty cheap and like it doesn't stand out in any way. This is basically every type of "kid befriends a wild animal" story you can think of and it falls into the tropes that come with this type of story perfectly. It doesn't do anything to set itself apart.

The characters are fine, the visuals are fine, the story is fine, but it's so inoffensive and by-the-books that it also doesn't stand out and is really forgettable.

Also, the audio mixing on the English version is downright terrible. I don't know what went wrong here, but it feels really unprofessional, particularly in the crowd scenes where dialogue overlaps awkwardly in unnatural-feeling ways.

I don't hate this movie or anything, honestly I did quite like it, but I can't give it a higher rating because of how generic it is.
