Synopsis
When their plane crashes in the African wilderness, several people from different walks of life will have to learn to work together to survive. My Thoughts
The poster lies. There are no saber-toothed lions in this movie.
Honestly this movie was just kinda disappointing. I was hoping for a fun action movie with lots of feline attacks and such, but the film barely delivered that. The few sparse scenes of lion violence take place mostly off-screen and the shots are cut so briefly we barely get to see any of it. How boring and disappointing.
The movie itself I wouldn't call terrible or anything, but I didn't really enjoy it, either. It's a decent enough story about survival and it has some decent characters (most notably Thabo and the pilot), but that's kinda where my praise for the movie ends. It didn't keep me very invested and aside from these likable characters (who died, anyways) there wasn't much in it for me. I disliked the main missionary couple, and since they, especially the husband, are the ones we're supposed to be mainly rooting for, the movie kinda failed in that regard. The side characters are more likable than the lead.
And like I said, most of the animal action scenes take place off-screen or are edited so fast that they barely leave an impact. I wanted to see some good ol' animal violence like the poster promised, and it utterly failed to deliver in that regard.
Not a terrible movie but I'd skip it. Not enough worth here to check out.
