Synopsis

Two brothers arrive in their hometown in Missisippi to start a new club, however an evil seems to be waiting for them.

My Thoughts

If you know me, you know that the horror genre is simply not my genre. I don't hate it or anything, but it just doesn't appeal to me much in the same way superhero and scifi movies usually don't. 

However, I am pleased to say that Sinners is a great film. Everyone recommended it to me and told me that it's great, and yes, it lives up to the hype.

This is a great movie, exciting in the action and really dark at times, but also just so good. The highlight for me really is the characters, though. I genuinely really liked our main cast here, they were all great characters. I think that Sammy, Pearline and the SmokeStack twins have to be my favorites, but the entire main cast was pretty dang great.

I also just have to bring up the soundtrack of this film: What a banger. I could listen to these songs for hours. There are also some great scenes in here, particularly the "I Lied to You" scene is phenomenal. I felt like I ascended during that scene. Legit cinema.

Great film, touches on some great themes, can be scary and intense when it needs to be, visually and musically striking. Can't recommend it enough.
