Synopsis
My Thoughts
A cute series that peaked my interest when I heard of it for the first time. It follows six pets (Roxie, Jade, Trip, Quincy, Bev and Edie) who are all friends and inhabit a parallel world to our own where all pets can go. Here they go on all sorts of adventures and experience interpersonal conflict.
If you want a series that's complex or deep or goes into lore or character development and all that, you're at the wrong address here. This is a simple series. The episodes are short (only ten minutes or so), the lore and world-building very surface-level and the characters are pretty one-note with only one or two character traits that really set them apart. There is no ongoing continuity outside of one or two minor things (e.g. Roxie moving in with Jade, Roxie becoming an older sister at one point).
But that does not make this series bad. Granted, I do like there being some depth to my series, but for what it is, this is solid. Simple and cute are the best ways to describe it. It's far from groundbreaking, but if you like a more small-scale series about neat characters learning lessons and going on small adventures, this is your show. I had a good time watching it.
I definitely think it's a good show for the target audience of kids. It's not poorly written or visually bad like some slop that are made for the target demographic, it's actually really good in this regard. Older fans like me can also still enjoy the series, so long as you know what you're getting into going in. This is not a grand-scale family-friendly show with deep lore and characters like My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, for example.
But it's solid for what it is and I had a good time watching it. If it sounds like your cup of tea definitely check it out.
