Synopsis
Several families have to find a way to make their Christmas a happy one when things go wrong for each of them.My Thoughts
I'm not mega into Christmas movies or anything but this one looked charming. And honestly, yes, it is. It's not a great movie or anything and it definitely feels small-scale and like the stakes aren't too high, but it does have a lot of heart to it that really make it work.
I will say, don't be distracted by the promotion putting Santa front and center when he really is barely in the movie. He does narrate the story and guide the plot along, but the main characters are really the families featured here.
I do like that this movie has a bit of an attitude and edge to it, it did make it funny and tonally made it feel somewhat different from other Christmas movies.
I overall just don't have that much to say about this one. Solid family film. Worth checking out if you're in the mood for something funny and heartwarming.
One thing I will absolutely remark on, though: The title sucks. This is literally the most generic title they could've given the movie and they went with it. I'd really have gone with a different, less boring title if I were them.
